South of Scotland Enterprise welcomes local jobs boost as Alpha Solway awarded major contract

South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) has welcomed the announcement from Scottish Government today (13 August) that Annan-based company, Alpha Solway has been awarded a major contract which will support around 200 new jobs for the region.

Professor Russel Griggs OBE, Chair of SOSE explained: “Following last week’s joint announcement with People’s Energy, who are expanding to Selkirk, we very much welcome another positive boost for the South of Scotland economy - this time in Dumfries and Galloway.

“We know that this has been a hugely challenging time for many businesses across the South of Scotland, so more positive news at this time provides us with even more confidence and reassurance that our economy will recover and prosper into the future.
