Ettrick Riverside Business Centre

Corespace to lead exciting new chapter for Ettrick Riverside Business Centre

An iconic business centre in Selkirk is set for an exciting new future after being acquired by an established workspace operator with a proven track record across the South of Scotland.

We have completed the sale of Ettrick Riverside Business Centre to Corespace, which will continue operating the building as a thriving hub for businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals throughout the Scottish Borders.

The sale follows our decision to step away from commercial landlord responsibilities and focus on its core mission of supporting economic growth, enterprise and community development across the South of Scotland.

Ettrick Riverside

Ettrick Riverside, a distinctive A-listed former Victorian mill on the banks of the Ettrick Water, has long provided high-quality workspace for businesses of all sizes.

Under its new ownership, the centre will continue to offer flexible office accommodation while benefiting from the expertise of one of Scotland's most successful workspace operators.

Who are Corespace?

  • Corespace currently operates business centres in Ayr, Kilwinning, Kilmarnock and Dumfries, supporting hundreds of businesses through flexible office, co-working and meeting space solutions.
  • The company has established a strong reputation for revitalising historic buildings and creating vibrant business communities.
  • Importantly, we will continue to maintain a presence within the building, retaining office accommodation at the Centre as part of its ongoing commitment to supporting businesses across the region.
Jane Morrison-Ross, Chief Executive of South of Scotland Enterprise, said:

"We are delighted to have reached an agreement with Corespace for the future ownership of Ettrick Riverside Business Centre.

"Finding the right buyer was incredibly important to us. We wanted an organisation with the experience, ambition and commitment to ensure the building continues to serve the needs of businesses across the Scottish Borders for many years to come.

"Corespace has an excellent track record of operating successful business centres across the South of Scotland, and we are confident they will build upon the strong foundations already in place at Ettrick Riverside.

"This sale enables SOSE to focus our resources on our core mission of stimulating economic growth and supporting businesses, social enterprises and communities throughout the South of Scotland."

Hugh Mulgrew, Managing Director of Corespace, said:

"We are delighted to acquire Ettrick Riverside and become part of the business community of Selkirk and the Scottish Borders.

"This is one of the most impressive business centres in the South of Scotland, and we look forward to building on the excellent work undertaken by SOSE.

"Our ambition is to create a vibrant and supportive environment where businesses can thrive, while preserving the unique character of this remarkable building.

“We are excited to welcome existing tenants and future occupiers to what will become Corespace Selkirk."
