We are raising a glass to Outlander star's exciting new venture in Galloway
We are welcoming the exciting new business venture from Sam Heughan – the internationally acclaimed actor, best known for his iconic role as Highland warrior Jamie Fraser in the hit series Outlander.
Returning to his roots at the weekend, Heughan announced the establishment of the Galloway Distillery in Newtown Stewart as a world class visitor attraction which leverages his Sassenach brand and the Outlander story.
At the launch event on Saturday, 27 September, Sam Heughan and his business partner Alex Norouzi shared their vision for a net zero, low carbon distillery that champions sustainability while producing world-class spirits.
With the establishment of a Brand Home for the hugely successful Sassenach brand and the acquisition of the local brand Hills & Harbour (where the Sassenach Gin was produced), Sam and his team will significantly develop and expand the visitor offering over the coming 12-14 months, such that it becomes a signature attraction and an ultimate destination for the South of Scotland.
