South of Scotland Business Panel members sought to help shape ambitious plans for the region
South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) is once again showing it is committed to listen, be innovative, and deliver for the South by developing a new business panel to gain vital information about business needs across the South of Scotland.
Anyone who would like to take part in providing a voice for their business/social enterprise, their area and sector is being urged to come forward to be part of the new Business Panel for the South.
Your voice will help SOSE and its Team South of Scotland partners to shape their plans and collective efforts to help the region flourish into the future.
Professor Russel Griggs OBE, Chair of SOSE said: “We are in the South, by the South and for the South and we have always said we are here to listen to the people.
“Forming our new Business Panel is another way for us to really understand the issues on the ground and listen to the people.
“The evidence gathered from the views of the panel will help us inform discussions with Scottish Government and other public sector agencies, ensuring the regional picture is reflected at national level.
“We are your Economic Development Agency, and without the views of the those who live and work here, we cannot be that.
Jane Morrison-Ross, CEO of SOSE explained: “By joining the panel, you will be helping us influence our work as YOUR Economic Development Agency.
“Being part of the panel is easy and you can opt out at any time.
“Panel members will be invited to take part in around three telephone surveys each year, and possibly some other research projects for SOSE.
“The feedback will be crucial for us to understand what’s happening and what we can do to help influence, challenge and shape our work. You will also be sent an overview of survey findings so you can compare your business with others across the region.”
Marketing Research company, Ipsos MORI are undertaking the work on behalf of SOSE. A range of businesses within the region will be receiving calls throughout June from Ipsos MORI.
The first telephone survey will be running throughout June 2021 and those contacted will be able to sign up to the panel at the end of the call if they want to take part on a regular basis.
The surveys are confidential. No individual organisations which take part will be identifiable from the published results. The survey typically takes 20 minutes to complete.
This work builds on the experience of Highlands and Islands Enterprise (HIE) who have run a similar successful business panel in their region for a number of years.
If you want to take part, you can send an email to hie-sose-survey@ipsos-mori.com to arrange a call back. You can also visit www.southofscotlandenterprise.com/contact-us/have-your-say
