SOSE App launched
As part of its ongoing bid to be bold and different for the people of the Scottish Borders and Dumfries and Galloway, South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE) has launched its new mobile app.
The app, available to download on:
The app has been developed as part of a wider concerted effort to make SOSE more accessible to businesses, community groups and individuals in the South of Scotland.
The rurality of the South of Scotland and its vast range of accessibility needs has fuelled SOSE’s desire to develop a mobile app that ensures people can reach its information easily - wherever they are, at any time, and from whatever device they have access to.
Research by SOSE showed fewer people accessed SOSE’s website via mobile devices, which the app aims to change by being easy to use and enabling users to access information or find support from SOSE within just two taps.
As well as being easy-to-use, the new app is equipped with the capability to send people alerts directly to their mobile devices, allowing users to be the first to hear about funding, vacancies and news stories from SOSE.
App users will also be presented with the opportunity to upload images they have captured in the South of Scotland, to assist the economic and community development agency in visually showcasing to everyone what the South has to offer.
The app additionally provides a sign-up function for SOSE’s e-newsletter, which the agency is planning to launch as part of its effort to increase its reach and engagement across the South.
The launch of this new app aims to reflect SOSE’s ongoing commitment and desire to listen and provide innovative solutions to the people of the South.
Jane Morrison-Ross, Chief Executive of South of Scotland Enterprise
“We are delighted to finally be able to launch SOSE’s new app.
“Our app will increase engagement among our local communities, providing a new and different way for people to connect with us for help and support.
“We want to continue to be viewed as a flexible and adaptable agency which is willing to really listen to the people of our region.
“The launch of our app will help us to continue to do this and to build upon the support we have given to many organisations and projects already.”
Professor Russel Griggs OBE, SOSE Chair
“We are always striving to develop different ways to communicate with and support the individuals, organisations and groups within our region.
“Our app will help us to do this more effectively than ever and make SOSE’s latest updates and support accessible from anywhere, at any time and on any device.
“The increased accessibility our app provides is particularly important at the moment, as most people are living their lives through their mobile phones.
“Our app makes sure we can tailor the way we provide our information and support to reflect that, and ensure we are at people’s fingertips all the time.”
