SOSE Chair pays tribute to The Ethical Dairy’s Wilma Finlay
Our Chair has paid tribute to Wilma Finlay of The Ethical Dairy at Rainton Farm, who has passed away.
Russel Griggs OBE said:
“I have known Wilma as a colleague, a friend and just wonderful inspiring person for about 30 years, before she moved to Rainton and married David.
“She was always that special person that stood out from the crowd and did things others feared or were not brave enough to do, playing a leading role in regenerative agriculture which has inspired many people.
“She created a business with David that was known and admired all over the world and was recognised with a hugely deserved Silver Thistle national tourism award in 2023.
“Wilma and David’s book they released in 2023 – A Dairy Story – is not just a wonderful account about their farm and the Galloway area but one of the best love stories I have ever read.
“A little bit of so many hearts including mine has gone with her but the joy and pleasure of having known her and shared part of life with her will stay with us all forever.”
